System Error Codes and Corrective Actions

Corrective Action:

Verify SITECODE is correct. If so, and acceptance is desired, use a SITECODE admin card to add the missing sitecode to sitecode list in the reader.

Write error

Corrective Action:

An error has occurred while writing to the card. Depending upon the nature of the failure, the card may not be usable. If not, the system administrator will have to rehabilitate the existing card or issue a new one.

Invalid card type

Corrective Action:

The ATR was unrecognizable to the reader. TRY AGAIN. If the error persists, make sure the card type is usable in the machine in question. If so, the system administrator will need to issue a new card to the cardholder.

Corrective Action:

An error has occurred while reading the card. TRY AGAIN. If the error persists, make sure the card type is usable in the machine in question. If so, the system administrator will need to issue a new card to the cardholder.

Corrective Action:

The card balance is higher than allowed. See system administrator.

Invalid System Key Card

Corrective Action:

A system key card was inserted into a reader with existing keys. The keys ust match before the reader will execute this admin card's function.This error indicates that the keys did not match.

Invalid GMX2000 certificate

Corrective Action:

Return device to system (GMX2000) administrator for rehabilitation.

Cause:

Invalid Application ID

Corrective Action:

The application ID on the card does not match the one(s) the reader is programmed to accept. TRY AGAIN. If the error persists, see the system administrator.

Cause:

Card has expired

Corrective Action:

Either the card is expired, written incorrectly, or the clock in the reader is not set properly. Determine which and correct accordingly.

NOTE: If the error is an isolated event, the clock is most likely set properly. If several people are experiencing this same error on the same machine, the clock is likely to be set incorrectly.

Cause:

Only one retry for CSC1 is left.

Corrective Action:

Take the card to the system administrator. The card's secret code presentation counter is down to its last try. If issued properly, the counter will reset and the card can be reused. If the last attempt at the CSC1 fails, the card becomes unusable and a new one will have to be issued to the cardholder.

Corrective Action:

See system administrator. The card will be rehabilitated if possible, otherwise a new card will be issued.

See system administrator. The card will be rehabilitated if possible, otherwise a new card will be issued.

Cause:

Invalid issuer code

Corrective Action:

TRY AGAIN. If the error persists, the issuer code field of the card does not match the list of those the reader is programmed to accept. The card will have to be rewritten or reissued by the system administrator.

Invalid card checksum, or

Invalid Admin card (99xx) in SLIM-PR

Corrective Action:

The card checksum is incorrect. TRY AGAIN. If error persists, see system administrator.

Invalid card status

Corrective Action:

The card status is not "active" (<>1). TRY AGAIN. If error persists, see system administrator.

Cause:

Invalid admin card (99xx)

Corrective Action:

The admin card index (99xx) has no valid executable associated with it. TRY AGAIN. If error persists, see system administrator. The card will have to be rewritten, or a new one will have to be issued.

Corrective Action:

The card ID was found in a reader's hotlist and has been rendered unusable. See system administrator. *Error 64 is also a hot card, but only seen when the card is deactivated.

Hot card

Corrective Action:

The card ID was found in the reader's hotlist, and has been rendered unusable. See system administrator. *This is the first time that the hot card has been seen by a reader. The cardholder will see Error 57 in any reader that they try the card in after this error.
